QUESTION: If the GPS gives a position only at the antenna, how does a spray nozzle thirty feet away on the end of a boom know to turn on or off?
ANSWER: It is correct that the GPS receiver can only provide the location of the antenna to the control system for the sprayer. However, the software responsible for turning the spray nozzle on and off can be calibrated based on the location of the nozzle relative to the location of the GPS antenna. Once the relative location of the spray nozzle is known, the software automatically converts the GPS signal into the position of the nozzle, allowing for on/off decisions to be made accurately.

I have a tractor with a GS2. The GS2 is running my auto steer. I have a Kinze Vision Planter with the Ag Leader Insight monitor to run the planter with air clutchs. Because the Insight came with the planter. I would like to know if I can run the planter through the GS2 to get rid of a Insight monitor. I’m pretty sure I can run the air clutchs because they tru count cutches but i would like to run the seeding part through the GS2.
I also have another Kinze 24 row with a KPM II monitor and was wondering if I could get ride of the KPM II monitor and run the seed operatons through the GS2. I have not put air clutches on that planter yet but going to but I have the GS2. I know I can run the clutches through the GS2 but the Knize seeding part I want to run though the GS2.
